Greetings! God has blessed us with a beautiful Spring-like day -- I do, however, wish I could've been outside to enjoy it more.

Tonight I will be making hot dogs, tater tots, and macaroni and cheese. I know, I know.....two starches - BAD! But, it sounds good to me, and ya gotta have those dinners every once in awhile, right?!?! I will also try to make a wonderful Apple Brown Betty. I got the recipe from a show back in the early '90s, "The Mike 'N' Maty Show." It was a great show, and it has proved to be a hands-down, tried-and-true, love-it, love-it, love-it recipe!

Apple Brown Betty

10 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 cups oats
1-1/3 cups brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1-1/2 sticks butter
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice or nutmeg
4-5 Tbsp orange juice or apple juice

Grease and flour a 13 x 9 glass pan. Line pan with apples. In a bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, butter, cinnamon, salt, and allspice or nutmeg. Mix together with hands well. Pour over apples. Drizzle juice over crumb mixture. Bake @ 375 for 30-35 minutes.
